What does Shania Twain reveal on Nick Grimshaw & Angela Hartnett’s Dish?

Multi-award-winning country superstar Shania Twain is the latest guest on Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s podcast, Dish from Waitrose.

The conversation with Shania includes riding horses around Hyde Park, going incognito in public, having champagne on her rider, getting the call and preparing for Glastonbury, her eating habits on a show day, living in Switzerland and being afraid of being bitten by bugs and having a bug sweeper on tour.

She also reveals why she refused to record with Prince, singing at eight years old, having her first hit at 30 and her one diva demand.

When she’s out and about, she has to go disguise to avoid being recognised: “I leave the beauty at home. And I just go out, you know, as plain old me. And I get away with it,” she says. “Trust me, you would not recognise me without the beauty. You can get away with a lot.

“I think women get away with staying under the radar as celebrities more easily because you can take, you can, you can leave the beauty.”

Talking about Glastonbury, Shania says she had to pretend she didn’t know anything about it and found it difficult, especially as far as family are concerned. She knows wellies are a necessity and can’t decide whether to buy new ones or just take a pair from home!

Food on show days include puree avocado with spinach and tomato, or sometimes it’ll be banana and avocado and says she didn’t even know that champagne was on her rider!

As for refusing to record with Prince, Shania reveals when talking to him about it on the phone, she was swearing a lot and he said that there’s no swearing in his home. After that, she knew it wouldn’t work and explains why in the podcast.

She also has her own one diva demand and that’s also revealed in the discussion!

The latest episode of Dish with Shania Twain is released today, Wednesday 12 June.
