Journalists and producers have two days left to enter the Society’s News Podcast Awards 2026, recognising excellence in UK news podcasting.
The awards are the first in the UK dedicated solely to news podcast journalism, with organisers aiming to highlight work that informs and shapes national conversation across a growing audio sector.
Entries are free and open across ten categories, reflecting the range of formats and editorial approaches now seen in news podcasting. These include News Summary Podcast of the Year, Investigative Podcast of the Year and True Crime Podcast of the Year.
Other categories include Showbiz and Entertainment Podcast of the Year, Political Podcast of the Year and Royal Podcast of the Year. There are also awards for Scoop or Interview of the Year and Business and Economy Podcast of the Year.
Regional production is recognised through Best Regional or Community Podcast, while the overall Podcast of the Year category will reward standout work across the field.
The deadline for entries is midnight on Thursday 16 April, leaving a short window for journalists and production teams to submit their work for consideration.
