Significant Productions adds two comedy podcasts to network

Significant Productions is expanding beyond shows hosted by its founders with the launch of a new comedy podcast and the addition of an existing series to its network.

The production company founded by Elis James, John Robins and producer Dave Masterman is launching Don’t Think So Somehow on 16 June, while also bringing Skinwigs into its growing slate of comedy podcasts.

Don’t Think So Somehow will be the first weekly podcast from comedians Alistair Green and Rachel Stubbings.

The pair, who are longtime friends, describe the show as “aimless and often quite toxic chat from two grown adults who should know better”.

Alistair Green is known for his online comedy sketches and has built a large audience across social media.

The new podcast will give listeners a weekly insight into his take on life alongside Rachel, with the pair promising to “shine an unnecessary light on a questionable friendship”.

Rachel Stubbings said: “Mine and Alistair’s friendship has always hung by a f*cking thread. I don’t know if it can withstand doing a podcast together every week. Yet here we bravely go.”

The company is also adding Skinwigs, hosted by Ash Tyson and Sam O’Leary, to its network. The podcast returned for a new series earlier this month and will now be distributed by Significant Productions as part of a commercial partnership with Audio Always.

Sam O’Leary said: “We’re very excited to be joining Significant. Elis and John have promised us wealth beyond our wildest dreams even if they have to do something illegal and unforgivable. As soon as me and Ash heard that we thought ‘Yep’.”

The move marks the first time Significant Productions has added shows that do not feature co founders Elis and John as presenters, as the company looks to expand its presence in entertainment podcasting.

Dave Masterman, co founder of Significant Productions, said the company wants to create “a home for original and interesting comedy” and welcomed all four comedians to the network.

Both podcasts are available on major podcast platforms.
