Radio Times has launched a new theatre podcast hosted by creator Perry O’Bree and theatre critic Olivia Garrett.
In the Interval is designed to fit within a typical theatre interval, with episodes running between 20 and 30 minutes. The series promises theatre discussion, backstage stories and interviews with stage and screen performers.
Each episode opens with Perry and Olivia debating a theatre talking point before interviewing a guest about their career, current projects and how they spend their interval time during performances.
Guests confirmed for the first series include Beverley Knight, Ellie Leach, Maisie Smith, Owen Warner and Sara Bareilles, alongside cast members from Avenue Q and Waitress.
Perry O’Bree said: “I’m thrilled to be launching this exciting new theatre podcast with Radio Times. We’ve been developing this concept for well over a year to make sure we got it right and created something that feels fresh, thoughtful and genuinely exciting for theatre fans.”
Olivia Garrett added: “It feels like we’re in a golden age of theatre at the moment, with some of the biggest film and TV stars taking to the stage in hugely ambitious projects. This podcast feels like the perfect next step for Radio Times as we continue to show we’re here for all entertainment.”
The podcast is available now on podcast platforms, with the first episode already released.
